Our Revolution Cambridge
‍ ‍Endorsed Candidates 2026

Our Revolution Cambridge (ORC) was formed following the Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign. We believe that healthcare and housing are human rights. We fight for the working class and reject the rule of billionaires. To be endorsed by ORC, a candidate must share our positions and also must refuse to accept donations from real estate developers, as this industry plays an outsized role in local politics and is responsible for high rents and the displacement of so many of our neighbors.

We proudly support the following candidates for election in 2026:

Senate:

Sen. Edward Markey (www.edmarkey.com)
running against Rep. Seth Moulton

Senator Markey has been a leader in many important political struggles. He worked alongside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to introduce the Green New Deal in 2019 and remains its chief sponsor in the Senate. He is a strong and energetic voice for economic equity, single payer health care, the rights of immigrants, and a strong opponent of the war against Palestinians waged by Israel with U.S. support. His opponent, Rep. Seth Moulton, who has positioned himself as a moderate his whole career, is hoping to win by trying to make age an issue and modifying positions he previously held, e.g. on arms for Israel.

Congress:

5th Congressional District: Jonathan Paz (www.pazforthepeople.com)
running against Rep. Katherine Clark

Jonathan Paz has organized for progressive causes in communities just west of Boston for many years.  In 2019, he was elected to the Waltham City Council, unseating a 30-year incumbent. On the Council, he fought for public housing, tenant protections, and environmental action.  He has focused his campaign against Congresswoman Katherine Clark, a leader of Congressional Democrats, on her support of Israel’s wars and AIPAC.

7th Congressional District: Ayanna Pressley (ayannapressley.com)
running unopposed

Congresswoman Pressley is a member of the original Squad. She leads the Massachusetts Congressional delegation as a fighter against racism. She also believes that housing is a basic human right that, like primary education, should be guaranteed. In Congress, she has led efforts to defund and abolish ICE. After 2023, she was one of the first legislators to push for a ceasefire in Gaza, and she has worked in alignment with Jewish Voice for Peace on many Palestine-related initiatives. She has been a strong No Kings and pro-democracy advocate, both in Washington and in the community.

State Senate:

Suffolk and Middlesex: Daniel Lander (www.daniellander.com)
running against Sen. William Brownsberger

Before entering this election, Daniel Lander worked on affordable housing for Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. He is challenging William Brownsberger, a leader of the corporate Democrats in the Senate. Brownsberger opposes the Millionaires' Tax, rent control, and the right of legislative aides to unionize. Lander supports these progressive positions.  He also understands what is needed to make our state legislature more transparent.

2nd Middlesex: Erika Uyterhoeven (www.electerika.com)
running for the open seat after Sen. Pat Jehlen retired. Running against: Cambridge Councilor Burhan Azeem, Rep. Christine Barber, and Somerville Councilor Matt McLaughlin

Rep. Erika Uyterhoeven co-founded Act on Mass, fought to make state house committee votes public, and won! With this increased transparency, Erika has been able to work not just with legislators inside, but also unions and community groups outside the state house, because the only way we make the changes needed in this state is together. This Erika-led joint effort has passed legislation to limit ICE’s abuse, and blocked a bill written by Eversource lobbyists to rollback climate commitments and further raise utility prices. Erika believes in taxing the rich to fully fund public schools and invest in social and public housing. She is a leader in support of public education. She has advocated against new prisons and brought attention to abuses in our criminal justice system. She has not been afraid to stand up for what she believes in, even if it has meant paying the price of voting against the leadership. We believe she will carry this fight, with us, into the Senate.

State Representative:

25th Middlesex: Evan McKay (www.evanforcambridge.comrunning against Incumbent Marjorie Decker

Evan is a member of ORC Cambridge (and many other orgs). Please look at ORC’s  just published op ed about Evan in the Cambridge-Somerville Independent for the many reasons we very enthusiastically support them: csindie.com/time-for-a-change-in-cambridges-25th-middlesex

26th Middlesex: Mike Connolly (www.mikeconnolly.org)
running against Neil Miller

Mike Connolly is the legislative leader of the fight for housing as a human right.  He is a strong supporter of rent control and other tenant protections. He is the author of the social housing initiative in the budget bill and an advisor to Cambridge’s Social Housing Task Force.  He is also a fierce fighter for legislative transparency. Mike has also fought for workers’ rights, bold climate action, voting rights, improved transportation and more. A strong advocate for the Fair Share Amendment, he was one of the only people to oppose the annual billion dollar tax cut (mostly to the wealthy) that gave back significant gains from the Fair Share Amendment.  He is willing to speak out against bad, rushed legislation, and to push the State House to be more ambitious in all of its policymaking. He is also at virtually every picket line, rally, and demonstration that happens in the 26 Middlesex or anywhere in Cambridge.
