Our Revolution Cambridge
Endorsed Candidates 2026
Our Revolution Cambridge (ORC) was formed following the Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign. We believe that healthcare and housing are human rights. We fight for the working class and reject the rule of billionaires. To be endorsed by ORC, a candidate must share our positions and also must refuse to accept donations from real estate developers, as this industry plays an outsized role in local politics and is responsible for high rents and the displacement of so many of our neighbors.
We proudly support the following candidates for election in 2026:
Senate:
Edward Markey
Senator Markey is a voice for economic equity, single payer health care, the rights of immigrants, and a strong opponent of the war against Palestinians waged by Israel with U.S. support.
Congress:
5th Congressional District: Jonathan Paz
Jonathan Paz has organized for progressive causes in communities just west of Boston for many years. In 2019, he was elected to the Waltham City Council, unseating a 30-year incumbent. On the Council, he fought for public housing, tenant protections, and environmental action. He has focused his campaign against Congresswoman Katherine Clark, a leader of Congressional Democrats, on her support of Israel’s wars and AIPAC.
7th Congressional District: Ayanna Pressley
Congresswoman Pressley is a member of the original Squad. She leads the Massachusetts Congressional delegation as a fighter against racism. She also believes that housing is a basic human right that, like primary education, should be guaranteed.
State Senate:
Suffolk and Middlesex: Daniel Lander
Before entering this election, Daniel Lander worked on affordable housing for Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. He is challenging William Brownsberger, a leader of the corporate Democrats in the Senate. Brownsberger opposes the Millionaires' Tax, rent control, and the right of legislative aides to unionize. Lander supports these progressive positions. He also understands what is needed to make our state legislature more transparent.
2nd Middlesex: Erika Uyterhoeven
Erika Uyterhoeven was a founder of Act on Mass and has fought for transparency in the House. She has not been afraid to stand up for what she believes in, even if it has meant paying the price of voting against the leadership. We believe she will carry this fight into the Senate. She supports rent control and social housing, as well as greater investment in existing public housing.
State Representative:
25th Middlesex: Evan McKay
Evan McKay lost by a whisker when they ran against Marjorie Decker in 2024. This year, Decker has reversed her public positions on most of the issues that McKay challenged her on last time. Notably, however, she supported the return of millions of Fair Share dollars back to the wealthy. She also believes that the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate should control the salaries of legislators, despite evidence that these perks are used to secure votes. She refuses to take the People’s Pledge to refuse dark money [money from anonymous donors] and SuperPAC [bundlers of dark money.])
Evan is a union leader who worked to build coalitions fighting for economic equity and social justice. They worked for years in the campaign for legislative transparency and accountability
26th Middlesex: Mike Connolly
Mike Connolly is the legislative leader of the fight for housing as a human right. He is a strong supporter of rent control and the author of the social housing initiative in the budget bill. He is also a fierce fighter for legislative transparency.
